Nobody said thieves make the best decisions, but even the dumbest criminals must be shaking their heads (or holding their noses) after hearing about a stolen $300,000 Case IH Steiger 485 tractor found buried in a pile of manure.
The tractor was stolen from a business near Winnipeg, Canada in December, 2010 and was recovered on a property about 100 miles north on May 31, 2012 after the Royal Canadian Mounted Police received a tip from CrimeStoppers. An excavator was required to dig out the 2009-model tractor, which was no doubt an unpleasant job for all involved.
A 24-year-old man and 22-year-old woman are facing a variety of charges.
We would very much like to ask this fetid crime team what, exactly, were they planning to do with a poop-covered tractor. We’re guessing buyers weren’t exactly lining up to take a stolen, foul-smelling tractor off their hands.
