“This is the largest expansion of our top-line four-wheel-drive and track tractor series in company history,” says Jerry Griffith, division marketing manager, John Deere Waterloo Works. “From 370 to 620 horsepower, the 9R/9RT Series provides the most powerful, versatile, and durable four-wheel-drive and high-horsepower track tractors designed to handle the widest range of farming operations and extreme-duty applications.”
Performance begins with the power source. The John Deere PowerTech PSS 9.0L and 13.5L engines, along with the 15L Cummins QSX15 engine, are all Tier 4 Final-compliant. All three engines share a common technology approach to meet the near-zero emissions regulations.
“With the addition of the 15L to the 9.0L and 13.5L engine line-up,” says Griffith, “this brings an ideal range of displacement options to the 9R/9RT family with rated power reaching a new height of 620 horsepower, the largest tractor we’ve ever built.”
The new and improved e18 PowerShift transmission with Efficiency Manager features an additional automatic mode for efficiency manager that’s designed to increase machine fluid efficiency and operator productivity. In addition, hydraulic flow has been increased to 115 gpm, giving these tractors plenty of capacity to easily handle large implements.
An industry exclusive feature customers will quickly appreciate on the 9520R, 9570R and 9620R models is the HydraCushion Suspension System. Located on the front axle, HydraCushion Suspension mitigates power hop and road lope to ensure customers get all of the horsepower to the ground for the highest level of traction.
The CommandView III Cab is designed to provide increased operator comfort and ease of operation with a redesigned CommandARM, featuring a John Deere 4600 CommandCenter display for control of tractor functions and settings. This puts everything needed to do the job at the operator’s fingertips while sitting in a seat that swivels 40 degrees to reduce strain when viewing rear implements.
The new 9R/9RT Series comes with an LED lighting package for nighttime work illumination. Optional Active Command Steering, another industry exclusive for four-wheel-drive tractors, provides improved line hold and steering feel at high speeds (26 mph transport speed) and reduces steering effort in the field.
Factory integration of the 9R/9RT Series Tractors with the latest technology solutions, along with dealer value-added services and support, is all part of the suite of John Deere FarmSight solutions for customers. “It’s a complete package designed to help customers maximize equipment performance and uptime while giving them access to the machine and agronomic information they need to better manage their operations,” says Griffith.
“Large producers have no time to mess around with slow, undersized equipment that is not up to the task. The 9R/9RT Series offers an unmatched combination of power, efficiency, technology and operator comfort to get the field work done quickly and help all types of operations be more productive.”
